Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving

  • REV PHILIP OYEWALE

Dearly beloved, I bring you greetings in the name that is above every other name, Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God and our soon coming King. It is with great joy that I welcome you to the first Sunday of the month of January and of the year 2016; our year of Supernatural Occurrences. It is my prayer that the Lord will visit you in a supernatural manner, put a song in your mouth and cause you to dance throughout the year in Jesus name.

It will be expedient for us to start the year with thanksgiving, because the scripture says, ‘God will make a grateful heart fat’. Psalm 136:1-4(MSG) states ‘Thank God! He deserves your thanks. His love never quits. Thank the God of all gods, His love never quits. Thank the Lord of all lords. His love never quits. Thank the miracle-working God, His love never quits.’
We must thank Him for making it possible for us to see another year. Indeed, God has been so good to us. Lamentation 3:22 says ”it is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.” We must take the time to reflect on the past years, think about His love for us and our household, think about where we were last year and where we are now, think about where He has brought us from and how far He has taken us. Think about all the things that could have happened that never happened and all the things that He delivered us from.
